1 - Secrets & Lies

Three months later, Star returns home from touring, and Alex and Simones fates are finally answered. Carlotta and Cassies sibling rivalry continues, as the two grapple with the aftermath of Cassies big mistake, and Christine is caught in the middle. When Carlottas back is against the wall, Midtown Sounds strength and future is tested by Mateo Ferrera, and Stars big announcement leaves a lot of questions unanswered.

1 - Pilot

Star, a tough-as-nails young woman who came up in the foster care system, tracks down her sister, Simone, and her Instagram bestie, Alexanndra, and together, the trio journeys to Atlanta with the hope of becoming music superstars.

1 - The Winner Takes It All

While still dealing with the repercussions of Hunters death, Star goes to great lengths to assure that the group gets a release date for their album. A frustrated Simone struggles with bullying and Alexandra moves in with Derek despite the hardships theyve experienced. Meanwhile, Carlotta faces difficult decisions when it comes to managing the group and turns to Jamal Lyon for advice.

2 - Who's the Daddy

When Mateo pulls a shocking stunt to reveal Stars pregnancy, the social media trolls go wild. Meanwhile, Simone faces a choice between her marriage and career, Carlotta and Cassie continue to battle it out and Maurice and Cassie team up for an unlikely ploy. Then, Derek returns home to find Miss Ruby in trouble.

2 - Insecure

The girls receive a rude awakening when the fierce new label head, Ayanna, demands they re-brand their image in order to have a shot at competing with the labels other talented artists. A disgruntled Star chooses to take matters into her own hands, causing tensions between her and Carlotta to escalate. Meanwhile, Alex, Simone and Cotton all struggle with adjusting to some major life changes.

2 - The Devil You Know

While Star, Alexandra and Simone work on a demo for their chance to perform at a music festival, Roland Crane and his wife, Rose come into town, revealing a big secret that threatens to destroy the group. Star then goes to extreme measures and risks it all to try to get her music produced by Roland. Meanwhile, Carlotta and Jahil go head-to-head, each trying to keep their secrets buried as someones life hangs in the balance.

3 - A Family Affair

In an attempt to go legit, Cassie embarks on a new venture with a businessman, that interferes with Carlottas work. Meanwhile, Noah struggles with making a contract decision under the watch of his father, Bobby, who is now back in his life. Then, still struggling with the death of a super-fans sister, Alex helps the fan start a music career. Also, a shocking discovery causes Star to take family a little more seriously, Simone finds out a secret about Mateo she cant keep to herself and Andy is back in trouble.

3 - FUA...Good Night

While preparing for an upcoming TV appearance with recording artist Noah Brooks, the girls quickly learn that they will be singing backup instead of co-headlining the performance. Anxious for the girls next big move, Carlotta turns to the new A&R executive, Maurice, for help on a new deal. Meanwhile, Jahil tries his hand at producing music, Cotton struggles with starting her new job and Star comes face-to-face with an unexpected person from her past.

3 - Next of Kin

Carlottas protective nature is in full force as someone close to her is in jeopardy. Trying to raise enough money for a recording session, Jahil finds himself in great danger. Meanwhile, Simones past continues to haunt her and Star goes to great lengths to make sure her sister is safe.

4 - All Falls Down

Still stressed and grieving, Carlotta lands celebrity host Ryan J to host Gravity Medias Snowball event, but it doesnt come easy. Meanwhile, Star finds out that Maurice stole from her, and Derek becomes skeptical about Alexs super-fan-turned-bestie, Olivia. Then, Simone is asked to speak at the Orange Ball; Cassie does business with her ex, Xander; Maurice gets a blast from the past; and someones fate is revealed.

4 - It Ain't Over

A rattled Star is reeling with emotions, while dealing with the sudden reappearance of her father. A huge opportunity for the girls to perform at the record label party is put into jeopardy after they react to learning that Ayanna has hired Rachel Wells as the labels new social media strategist. Meanwhile, Derek struggles with facing the truth about his fate; Carlotta finds a place of solace; and Cotton begins to bond with her father, Jahil, over their shared pain.

4 - Code of Silence

Carlotta continues to search for the truth about Simone and Stars past, as a familiar face reaches out for Jahils help. Meanwhile, Miss Bruce works on preparing the salon to compete in an upcoming hair show.

5 - Someday We'll All Be Free

Carlotta goes missing, suspicions about Olivia rise as she continues to pursue a friendship with Alex to cope with the loss of her sister. Maurice and Mateo settle on an agreement that tests Noahs loyalty. Miss Bruce and Bobby connect over their similar pasts and Noah, Simone, and Star try to keep Carlottas Music Festival afloat in her absence.

5 - May the Best Manager Win

Ayana is quickly reminded of the tremendous pressure she is under to make her family proud, when her father - a legendary music label executive - pays a visit to Midtown. Alex continues to be haunted by her lies to Derek; Star and Simone differ on how best to deal with Brodys mysterious return; and Noah faces a tense encounter with the police during an event thrown by the label. Meanwhile, Jahil works on a plan to debut a new duo hes discovered, featuring his nephew, Angel, and Ayannas assistant.

5 - New Voices

After getting a glimpse of their local competition, tensions rise between the three girls as they work on revamping their style. Simone discovers old tapes of her mothers, but Carlotta wants nothing to do with them - and she isnt the only one who feels that way. Meanwhile, Star puts her new relationship in jeopardy and Jahil finds himself in a sticky situation of his own.

6 - Ante Up

In an effort to boost ticket sales, Mateo brings on controversial rapper Lil Dini, who clashes with Take 3. Star and Noah confide in each other about their relationship issues and Simone is put in a sticky situation when Jackson is cast as her co-star in a movie. Meanwhile, Dereks keeping a secret, Cottons suspicions about Cassie grow and Xander pushes Cassie to find the rat in her organization.

6 - Faking It

With all of the flack the label is catching from the tragic police incident, Ayanna must quickly restore Midtowns image. Desperate for a spot in the showcase, the girls work on convincing hot recording artist Joyce Sheree to sing a featured verse on one of their songs. Carlotta continues to fight for custody of Simone, a misleading photo of Noah and Alex goes viral and Cotton juggles two relationships. Meanwhile, Brodys motivation for his return to Atlanta is revealed.

6 - Infamous

When Star, Simone and Alex are invited to perform at a fancy charity event, Jahil puts Alex in the lead and strongly encourages Star to ditch Hunter. Ultimately, Star still manages to be the star, while Jahil dodges a debt.

7 - Karma

Gravity Media recruits social media influencer Chloe David to attract more attention to Carlottas festival, but Take 3s plan to hijack attention to their album doesnt go as planned. Cassies relationship with Xander gets more complicated and Star must face her fears in order to build her family with Jax. Meanwhile, Detective Montero puts Derek in a dangerous position that could cost him everything.

7 - Black Wherever I Go

Things get out of control during a rally Derek organizes in response to the sudden loss of a close friend. Then, when Star doesnt show up for an important rehearsal, Alex and Simone are forced to have someone else step in for her.

7 - Ghetto Symphony

Stars jealousy finally kicks in when Noah and Alex begin spending more time together, both inside and outside of the studio. Ayanna throws a curveball, moving the showcase date up - giving everyone only two weeks to prepare. Worried about Cotton, Carlotta and Jahil team up to get to the bottom of her recent change in behavior. Meanwhile, Maurice steps in to help Noah get back on his feet, when he notices him struggling to catch a break.

8 - A House Divided

Although Carlotta enjoys spending more time with Maurice, her family remains her No. 1 priority and shell let nothing stop her from protecting them. Meanwhile, things dont go as planned during an interview with radio hosts Headkrack and Da Brat, which Midtown had arranged for its artists to promote the upcoming showcase. Also, Elliot is eager to take his relationship with Cotton to the next level, Jahil realizes he and Brody have a lot more in common than expected and the love triangle drama between Noah, Alex and Star intensifies.

8 - Mama's Boy

During a neighborhood block party fundraiser, Hunter surprises Star by inviting superstar recording artist/producer Pumpkin to the event. Alexandra revaluates her dreams of stardom when her mother, Rose Spencer, shows up with an irresistible proposal. Meanwhile, Jahil explores a new opportunity and Cotton agrees to meet with Pastor Harris, hoping to mend her relationship with her mother.

8 - Roots and Wings

Carlotta returns to Gravity Records, but finds out a lot has changed. Star meets Jacksons mother, Becky, and makes a shocking discovery. Meanwhile, Simone asks Nina for help when Angel returns in an unlikely way; Alex, still reeling from her fight with Derek, struggles with writing her own music; and Noah becomes dangerously paranoid and enlists his father, Bobby, as his new manager. Then, Cassie and Carlotta take steps towards making amends and Carlotta finds healing in confronting her father, Calvin.

9 - Zion

Carlotta does what she can to make the Rhythm and Bells Festival a success. However, challenges arise when Star ends up in a legal bind, Alex makes a major career move, Simone is hiding a secret and Cassie gets out of jail seeking revenge. Meanwhile, Derek and Ruby volunteer at the shelter, where Ruby comes face-to-face with the man who attacked her. Then, tempers flare as Carlotta and Cassies father, Calvin, shows up unexpectedly.

9 - Climax

With the showcase finally here, its time for the Midtown artists to put all their hard work to the test and prove they have what it takes to win. In the process, relationships are tested, ruined and sparked. Meanwhile, Carlottas salon is under fire in more ways than one, turning everyones world upside-down.

9 - Alibi

Otis murder wreaks havoc on Gods Blessings Beauty Salon, and threatens to break up the family. More information is revealed about Carlottas troubled past, Jahil is faced with an ultimatum and Cotton moves out.

10 - When Stars Fall

After giving birth, Star ends up jeopardizing everything she has worked for, while Simone fights for her family. Meanwhile, Carlotta opens up about buried trauma from her past, Cassie puts her neck on the line to save her nephew, Alexs career is skyrocketing and the team begins to think about the future of their musical careers.

10 - Rise From the Ashes

Carlotta is devastated after the fire that resulted in someones death. As she tries to pick up the pieces, her mother, Miss Christine, and sister, Cassie, unexpectedly show up. Meanwhile, Star struggles to hide her jealousy and feelings for Noah, while Gigi decides to do Take 3 a favor that could put them back on the map

10 - Boy Trouble

As the girls get ready for Atlanta Next Fest, a shocking development puts the group and their dreams in jeopardy. Meanwhile, Carlotta and Cotton are still at odds, but when a secret comes out, it changes things forever and the girls learn some shocking news.

11 - Watch the Throne

Stars situation with the law intensifies, while Noah juggles new priorities. Gigi and Alex face off to see who will be number one at the label. Meanwhile, Simone, Mateo and Derek fight city council to make Atlanta a sanctuary city in order to get Angel home.

11 - Take it to Church

Charles makes a decision about Noahs upcoming tour that leaves Take 3 in a tough spot. Jahil remains committed to doing whatever it takes to make sure Andy and Angel get to the top. Meanwhile, Ayanna returns and drops a bombshell that will have a major effect on Simones future, and Carlottas past is relived through one of the girls.

11 - Saving Face

Star and Hunter take their relationship to the next level, while Rose returns to help Alex and Derek deal with the aftermath of a traumatic experience. Carlotta reveals her reasoning for keeping a secret to herself for all of these years, and Cotton does the unthinkable to the one person she trusts the most. Meanwhile, the girls have a publicity photo shoot with social media guru Rachel Wells, and someone is finally arrested and charged for Otis murder.

12 - Toxic

Alex and Gigis rivalry heats up; Star struggles with being away from Davis; Noah battles his old vice; Miss Bruce, Simone and Cotton make a startling discovery that could help Star get out of jail.

12 - Dreamers

Rapper Quavo is recruited to join Midtown Sound, which causes drama with Noah, who is still harboring ill feelings towards him from their past. Meanwhile, secrets about Angels family are revealed when his mother, Paola returns. Then, Arlenes twin sister, Charlene, visits Atlanta to learn the truth about her sisters death, and Star has a revelation about her mothers final days.

12 - Showtime

Star is troubled as she deals with the aftermath of Hunters actions, while Derek and Alex struggle to make an important decision about their future. With Atlanta NextFest quickly approaching, the girls are putting the finishing touches on their routine. Will it be enough or will this be the end of their musical dream? Carlotta is determined to mend broken relationships, while Jahil tries to get back in the good graces of the girls.

13 - The Reckoning

Under Mateos hand, Gravity Medias finances are in the gutter and the team must pull off a successful ASA party to get back in the game. Carlotta returns and jumps right back into cleaning up everyones mess. Cassie closes in on Xander and digs into the past, after her fathers bombshell. Meanwhile, Simone watches over Star as Noah wrestles with his demons, and Alex and GiGis rivalry takes a new turn.

13 - Forward (E)Motion

Major competition ensues between Midtown Sound artists Take 3 and Noah Brooks when they fight for a coveted track produced by one of the industrys hottest producers. Blasts from the past are in full effect when Paola and Jahil explore their complicated history, Noah and Alex revisit their time together and Derek invites a date to the salons reopening celebration.

14 - Amazing Grace

Carlotta and Gravity throw a Legend Tribute concert to campaign for the ASA Awards. When Stars health takes a turn for the worse, Simone is put in a difficult decision. Meanwhile, Alex attempts to trust her family again, Cassie and Maurices relationship reaches new heights and Noah grapples with his reality after a visit from his mother, Dianne. Gigi makes a career changing choice and Cassie takes matters into her own hands with her father.

14 - After the Set, It's the Afterparty

Maurice brings in an old friend and regional promoter, Natalie, to help put the artists of Midtown Sound on the map. Competition and jealousy rise among the artists on their first gig as a collective, while Andy struggles with his dreams versus his parents expectations. Alex and Noah finally get Stars approval, but the relationship is tested by a run-in with groupies. Meanwhile, Cassie offers Miss Bruce a job and Cotton makes a life-changing discovery about her past.

15 - Lean On Me

Simone and Alex prepare to compete against newcomer Amber for their ASA performance. Noahs father, Bobby, returns to help Noah with his sobriety and fatherhood. Meanwhile, Miss Christine, Cousin Duke and Cousin Rashad come to town, much to the chagrin of Carlotta and Cassie. Then, Leon makes Cotton an offer.

15 - Let the Good Times Roll

Next up for the Midtown Sound artists is a scheduled performance at a Pride Parade in New Orleans, but when a safety threat puts them on lockdown, they are forced to face their issues head-on. Meanwhile, Alexs mother, Rose Crane, makes a selfish surprise visit to see her daughter in light of recent news surrounding her husband. Then, Maurices job is on the line when Ayanna returns to the label and quickly learns that Natalie, the regional promoter hes brought on, is up to no good. Also, Cotton tries to connect her identity and her past, and Derek is at odds with grandma Ruby.

16 - Square One

To campaign for the ASA Awards, Gravity throws an Easter brunch showcasing their artists, but as the awards draw nearer, the future of Take 3 and their solo careers are on the line. As the label faces possible bankruptcy, Carlotta must rally the troops to woo Empire executive, Giselle, in hopes she will invest. Star struggles to juggle Davis and her career, and clashes with Noahs mom, Dianne. Meanwhile, Alex plans for her future and Simone doubles down on her activism, which puts Angel in danger.

16 - Take It or Leave It

Tired of sitting on the sidelines, Star seizes an opportunity to stand out. Meanwhile, Maurice is presented with a task to help redeem himself, but is faced with an ultimatum that may cause even more drama for the Midtown Sound artists. Then, Andy and Angel clash with Jahil, and Cotton is put in a tough situation to help someone she loves.

17 - Proud Mary Keep On

Everyone is on edge, but the girls must stay focused on the events leading up to the ASAs. Star and Noah struggle with parenthood while being in the spotlight, as Alex deals with her fathers retaliation for her refusing his gifts. Meanwhile, Cassie continues to manage Rashads music career and Carlotta makes a shocking discovery that will change the lives of many.

17 - Mrs. Rivera

While attending an important event together, Alex ditches Noah when he needs her the most to mingle with DJ Dash. Meanwhile, Jahil revisits his love for Carlotta; Simone and Angel consider fleeing town after receiving a discouraging letter from immigration; Cassies heated relationship with Andy is at odds; and Cottons son Jayden finds an unlikely savior.

18 - When the Levee Breaks

The ASAs finally arrive and Take 3 fights Amber Drake for the top spot. Alex prepares for her wedding, but someone from her past returns to wreak havoc on her big day. Meanwhile, Star finally makes a decision about Davis, Carlotta continues to mend things with Rashad and the season ends with a bang.

18 - Thirty Days to Famous

When egos clash, Take 3s future as a group is at risk. Noahs continued substance use jeopardizes his relationships with the people who care about him most and Simone and Angels relationship faces the biggest test yet. Meanwhile, Ayanna undergoes a major life change and Cassie and Carlottas sibling feud comes to a head.
